Logo New Testament (LOGWBT)

Overview

The Logo New Testament is a translation of the New Testament into the Logo language (also called Logoti), a Central Sudanic language of the Nilo-Saharan family spoken by approximately 210,000 people in the Haut-Uele Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, primarily in the territory of Faradje and the city of Watsa [1][2]. The translation was published in 2015 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, with the text printed in South Korea [1]. As the Logo translation team neared completion of the New Testament, they held a celebration honoring their wives for the critical support roles they played throughout the lengthy translation process [1]. The translation work was carried out through ACOTBA (Association Congolaise pour la Traduction de la Bible et l'Alphabetisation), the Congolese Bible translation and literacy organization, in partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL International [3].
