Saamia 2010 Edition (LSMBSU)
Overview
The Saamia 2010 Edition, titled Ebbaibbo Emboosi Ya Nasaae Eyirimo Ebitabo Bilaangwa, is a Bible published in 2010 by the Bible Society of Uganda for the Saamia-speaking community. [1] A revised and expanded edition was subsequently published in 2019 as a joint effort between the Bible Society of Uganda and the Bible Society of Kenya, reflecting the cross-border distribution of Saamia speakers in both countries. [2] A companion edition including the Deuterocanonical books was also produced. [3]

Saamia (ISO 639-3: lsm) is spoken by approximately 609,800 people in Kenya. [Glottolog: saam1283]
Saamia (also spelled Samia) is a Bantu language belonging to the Luyia cluster within the Greater Luyana grouping. [4] It is spoken on both sides of the Uganda-Kenya border, primarily in the Busia District of eastern Uganda and the adjacent Busia County of western Kenya. The Saamia people are closely related to other Luyia-speaking groups of the Lake Victoria basin region.
