Leb-Thur (LTHEBL)

Overview

Leb-Thur contains 20 books of Scripture (Genesis, Deuteronomy, the four Gospels, Romans through Titus, Philemon, and James) in the Thur language, spoken by the Ethur people (population 98,348 per 2014 Uganda Census) in Abim District, Uganda. [1] The translation was published by Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL Uganda (copyright 2024). A trial orthography was created in 2012 with SIL technical assistance and used for the Gospel of Luke (published 2014). A Bible translation team was formed in 2017, and the orthography was revised and approved by the Thur Language Board in 2020. The JESUS Film was recorded in Thur in 2020. [1]
