Luyana Bible Translation (LYNEBL)
Overview
The Luyana Bible Translation is a complete New Testament in the Luyana language, spoken by approximately 3,100 people in Zambia. The translation was published in 2025 by The Word for the World International (copyright 2024). [1] The translation team first had to develop a writing system for Luyana in 2011 using the Latin alphabet, which is now taught in Zambian schools. [1] Eighty percent of speakers are Christian and had long desired Scripture in their own language. The project also provided literacy education and a means to record Luyana history and stories. [2]
