Overview

The Cameroon Mambila 2001 Edition, titled Mvù Ŋgɔ̀ŋ Feê, is a New Testament translation in the Cameroon Mambila language (ISO 639-3: mcu), published in 2001 by Wycliffe Bible Translators [1]. The Mambila were one of three language groups (alongside Ejagham and Yamba) whose SIL translation teams relocated from southeastern Nigeria to Cameroon in 1967 due to the Nigerian civil war, leading to the formal establishment of SIL Cameroon through an agreement signed on February 6, 1969 between John Bendor-Samuel and the Federal University of Cameroon [2]. Bible portions in Cameroon Mambila were completed by 1992, and the New Testament was finished in 2001 [3]. The Cameroon Mambila language has approximately 73,000 speakers across eight dialects, including Mambila, Kabri, Kara, and Ngubin, and is spoken on and around the Mambila Plateau in the Adamawa Province of Cameroon [3][4].
