Overview
This publication contains Scripture portions in the Santa Lucia Monteverde Mixtec language (ISO 639-3: mdv), including Genesis, Jonah, and the Gospel of Mark. The text translation was copyrighted in 2009 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. [1] Santa Lucia Monteverde Mixtec is an Otomanguean language spoken by approximately 7,200 people in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. Language and People
Santa Lucia Monteverde Mixtec is one of the many Mixtec language varieties spoken in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. [3] It belongs to the Otomanguean language family. The language is classified as endangered. [3] The community is predominantly Christian, though the Joshua Project classifies them as "superficially reached," indicating a need for mother-tongue Scripture resources. [2]
