Mofu 1975 Version (MFKABC)
Overview
The New Testament in the North Mofu language of northern Cameroon, with portions first published in 1975. North Mofu is a Chadic (Afro-Asiatic) language spoken in the massifs south of Meri in the Diamare division of Cameroon's Far North region. [1] The language is distinct from the related Mofu-Gudur (South Mofu) spoken further south across the Tsanaga River. Bible translation work among the North Mofu was supported by SIL International and the Bible Society of Cameroon, with the New Testament completed between 1975 and 2007. [1] The North Mofu are predominantly Muslim (52%) and followers of ethnic religions (40%), with a small Christian minority (8%). [1]
