Moba Lok New Testament (MFQABT)
Overview
The New Testament in the Moba language of northern Togo, published in 2007 by the Bible Society of Togo under the title "Yiesu Labamann Mual Ni." Moba is a Gur (Voltaic) language and a major language of the Gurma people living in the Savanes region around the town of Dapaong. [1] The translation involved collaboration between local translators, the Bible Society of Togo, and international partners. Rob Baker, working with a team described as "an Australian, a Togolese and a Geordie," was among the translators involved in the project. [2] The completed New Testament was dedicated in a ceremony marking the culmination of years of translation work. [2] Lutheran Bible Translators also maintained a presence among the Moba people of the region, supporting church planting and Scripture engagement. [3]
