New Testament (with revised Goss.) (MGSZZZ)
Overview
This is a 1937 New Testament translation in the Manda language of southern Tanzania, titled Kilagano kya Hino kya Bambo witu nu Njokosi witu Yesu Kristo ("The New Covenant of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ"). The designation "with revised Goss." indicates that this edition includes revised Gospels, likely updated from earlier portions. [1] The translation was published by the British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS) in London, and it represents the first New Testament in the Manda language. [1] Earlier Scripture portions in Manda were published between 1913 and 1928, also by the BFBS. [2] The Manda people are a sub-ethnic group of the Tumbuka, residing in the Ludewa District of the Njombe Region along the eastern shore of Lake Nyasa. [2] German missionaries from the Berlin Mission Society established the first Christian station in the region in 1891. [2]
