Peñoles Mixtec New Testament 2002 Edition (MILWBT)
Overview
The Peñoles Mixtec New Testament, titled Tnúhu ní cáháⁿ yǎ ndiǒxí xito cùu uú, was published in 2002 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. [1] Peñoles Mixtec (ISO 639-3: mil) is an Eastern Mixtec variety of the Otomanguean language family, spoken in the northeastern highlands of Oaxaca, Mexico, in communities including Santa María Peñoles, San Antonio Huitepec, and Santiago Tlazoyaltepec. [2] SIL linguist John P. Daly conducted early formal linguistic analysis of the language, publishing A Generative Syntax of Peñoles Mixtec in 1973, which contributed to understanding the language's structure as a foundation for translation work. [3] The translation is distributed digitally under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivatives 4.0 license and is available through multiple platforms including Bible.com and eBible.org.
