The Kim Mun audio scripture resource produced by The Word For The World brings the Word of God to speakers of Kim Mun, a Mien language of the Hmong-Mien family spoken in northern Vietnam. Kim Mun, also known as Kem Mun, Lanten, or Lantien, is spoken by approximately 221,000 people in Vietnam's northern mountain provinces, including Bac Giang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Tuyen Quang, and Yen Bai, with additional communities in China and Laos. [1] The Kim Mun are closely related to the Iu Mien (Yao) people; according to their oral tradition, the ancestors of both groups were brothers who separated during migration, forming two distinct communities. Because no complete New Testament has been reported as published in Kim Mun, audio scripture portions provide an important point of access to God's Word for this community.
