God's Holy Book in Sankaran (MSCGHB)
Overview
Alla la Kitabu Seniman (God's Holy Book in Sankaran) contains portions of Scripture in the Sankaran Maninka language of Guinea, translated by Pioneer Bible Translators (Traducteurs Pionniers de la Bible). [1] The translation was motivated by linguistic research showing that Sankaran Maninka speakers did not demonstrate sufficient proficiency in the Maninka of Kankan to use existing translations in that variety, necessitating a distinct Sankaran translation. [2] Pioneer Bible Translators conducted sentence repetition tests across multiple prefectures in Guinea to assess mutual intelligibility among Maninka dialect groups including Konyanka, Sankaran, and Wassalunka. [2] The portions are available in multiple digital formats through eBible.org under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 license. [1]
