Moskona 2001 Yayasan Sumber Sejahtera (MTJTBL)
Overview
The Moskona New Testament was published in 2001 by Yayasan Sumber Sejahtera. Moskona (also known as Meninggo or Sabena) is an East Bird's Head language spoken by approximately 8,000 people in the Teluk Bintuni Regency of northwestern Papua, Indonesia. The initial translation was adapted from the Testega dialect of the closely related Meyah language into Moskona by TEAM missionaries based in Testega and an SIL couple based in Manokwari. [1] Linguistic documentation of Moskona was carried out by Gloria Gravelle, who completed a grammar of the language as her PhD dissertation at the Free University of Amsterdam in 2009, working in collaboration with native speakers and SIL Indonesia. [2] A revised northern Moskona dialect New Testament was later produced by Wycliffe missionaries Andrew and Debbie Abbott, who arrived in 2006 and worked for twelve years to create a version more accessible to northern dialect speakers, dedicating it in 2018.
