Alkitab Tambee (MZQEBL)

Overview

Alkitab Tambee is a Scripture portion containing the Gospel of Luke in the Mori Atas language (ISO 639-3: mzq), published by The Seed Company in 2025. "Tambee" is an alternate name for the Mori Atas language and one of its primary dialects. [1] Mori Atas, also known as Upper Mori or West Mori, is an Austronesian language of the Celebic branch spoken by approximately 22,000 people along the upper course of the Laa River in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. [1][2] Earlier Bible portions in Mori Atas were produced between 1938 and 1941, and a New Testament translation was completed between 1938 and 1948, indicating a history of Scripture translation work spanning nearly a century. [1]

Language and People

Mori Atas is spoken primarily in the Lembo, Mori Atas, and Petasia sub-districts of Central Sulawesi province, and in the Nuha sub-district of South Sulawesi province in Indonesia. [2] The language has two primary dialects: Molio'a and Poso-mori. [1] It is classified as a living language with a written form. [1]
