Nawuri 2012 Edition (NAWWBT)
Overview
The Nawuri New Testament was completed in 2012 under the supervision of GILLBT (Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation), which was started in 1962 as SIL International's first work in Africa. [1] John Adinyah served as team leader, assembling a team to translate and bring literacy to the Nawuri community. [1] The New Testament was presented at GILLBT's 50th anniversary celebration in Accra, where the paramount chief of the Nawuri people received the first copy and declared, "We have now been counted among the people of God!" [2] Nawuri is spoken by approximately 9,300 people in Ghana.
