Ndengereko Bible (NDGEBL)

Overview

The Ndengereko Bible is a New Testament translation in the Ndengereko language (ISO 639-3: ndg), a Bantu language spoken in the Pwani (Coast) Region of Tanzania, particularly in the Rufiji River area near Kibiti, the Matumbi hills, and near Mchukwi and Bungu [1][2]. The translation was published in 2020 by the Door43 World Mission Community under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, with contributors listed as Cloud Roman, James, and William [1]. The Ndengereko people number approximately 110,000, and the community is predominantly Muslim [2][3]. This translation provides Ndengereko speakers access to Scripture in their own language for the first time.
