Nkangala Bible Translation (NKNEBL)

Overview

The Nkangala Bible Translation is a New Testament portions publication (17 books, Matthew through 2 Timothy) in the Nkangala language (ISO 639-3: nkn), a Bantu language of the Chokwe-Luchazi group spoken in southeastern Angola, primarily in the Moxico Province [1][2]. Nkangala is closely related to the Mbunda language and is considered one of its dialects, alongside Katavola, Yauma, and Sango [2]. The translation was published in 2025 by The Word for the World International and is available through the YouVersion Bible App [3]. The Nkangala people are a rural agricultural community, and the language has fewer than 50,000 speakers [1].
