Ndumu Audio Bible Portions (NMDCIE)
Overview
This resource contains audio Bible portions in Ndumu (also known as Minduumo and Mindoumou), produced by the Coordination Inter-Eglises pour la Traduction et l'alphabétisation en Langue Gabonaise (CIEATLG) and distributed through the Faith Comes By Hearing platform [1]. CIEATLG is a Gabonese inter-church organization coordinating Bible translation and literacy work across Gabon's many Bantu languages [1]. Ndumu is a Bantu language of the Bantoid branch spoken in Gabon, with an estimated 6,400 speakers; the language is known by numerous alternate names including Bandoumou, Mindumbu, Lendumu, and Ondoumbo [2]. Bible portions in Ndumu have been documented, but no complete New Testament or full Bible had been published as of 2024 [2]. The audio portions produced by CIEATLG represent the primary Scripture resource currently available for the Ndumu-speaking community and extend Scripture access to oral learners in central Gabon [1].
