Ollo Naga Bible (NSTEVB)
Overview
The Ollo Naga full Bible was completed in 2019 by Evangel Bible Translators, making the complete Scriptures available to the Ollo Naga community for the first time [1]. Ollo Naga (also called Laju in Arunachal Pradesh) is a Tibeto-Burman language related to the Konyak-Northern Naga branch; the translation is coded under the broader Tase Naga/Naga, Tangshang ISO 639-3 code (nst) alongside several other Tangsa-related varieties [2]. The community numbers approximately 500 members in western Myanmar and a further 1,500 in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, where they are predominantly Christian [1]. An estimated 80% of the Ollo Naga are followers of Christ, which gave particular urgency to completing a full Bible in their language [1]. Evangel Bible Translators is an international organization focused on mother-tongue Scripture for under-resourced peoples and has active translation programs across South and Southeast Asia, including multiple tribal communities in northeastern India and Myanmar [3]. Audio recordings of the Ollo Naga Bible New Testament are distributed through the Voice of Ollo website (olloyoo.org), further extending the reach of Scripture to oral learners [4].
