Giryama 2004 Edition (NYFWBT)
Overview
The Giryama 2004 Edition is the New Testament in the Giryama language, translated by Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) in partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Translation work in Giryama began in 1989, and the New Testament was dedicated on 18 December 2004. [1] The Giryama (also called Giriama or Agiryama) are the largest of the nine Mijikenda coastal peoples, numbering approximately 751,500 according to the 2009 Kenya census, and they inhabit a large portion of Kilifi County on the Kenyan coast. [1] The complete Giryama Bible was later launched and dedicated on 6 April 2019. [1]
