The Nyang'i Audio Bible is a Scripture resource produced by The Word For The World for the Nyang'i-speaking community of northeastern Uganda. Nyang'i (also written Nyang'ia) is a Kuliak language of the Nilo-Saharan family spoken in Kaabong District in the Karamoja subregion, where speakers have traditionally lived as hunter-gatherers alongside the larger Dodoth (Karamojong) community. The language is classified as nearly extinct by Ethnologue, with all fluent speakers reported to be over 60 years of age and a community ethnic population of around 10,000. The audio format of this resource reflects the oral communication needs of the community and the urgency of preserving mother-tongue Scripture access in a critically endangered language context.
