Nzema Bible (NZIBSG)

Overview

The Nzema Bible (Baebolo Anzee Buluku Nwuanzanwuanza) is a New Testament translation published in 1998 by the Bible Society of Ghana. Nzema is one of approximately nine major Ghanaian languages into which the Bible Society of Ghana has undertaken Scripture translation. [1] The translation follows a dynamic equivalence approach. Earlier Bible work in Ghanaian languages was facilitated in part by the legacy of the Basel Evangelical Mission Society, which from the early nineteenth century reduced several Ghanaian vernaculars to writing and promoted Scripture distribution, laying the groundwork for later mother-tongue Bible translation projects across the country. [2] An audio edition of the Nzema New Testament was produced by Faith Comes By Hearing in 2008. [3]
