Kuvale Regular Bible (OLUWAS)

Overview

A church-owned Bible translation (Regular Bible) produced through Wycliffe Associates' MAST (Mobilized Assistance Supporting Translation) methodology. Available for download via the Bible in Every Language portal.

An oral Scripture translation of 235 Bible stories (OT and NT) was also produced in 2021 through the Kamukuio Cluster project — a collaboration between Wycliffe SA and YWAM/JOCUM covering Kuvale, Humbe, and Kwandu communities.

Language and People

Kuvale (ISO 639-3: olu), also known as Mucubal or Olukuvale, is a Bantu language spoken by approximately 109,000 people, primarily in Namibe Province, Angola. The Kuvale are a nomadic pastoralist community.
