The Osing New Testament is a Scripture resource produced by the Indonesian Bible Society (Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia, LAI) for the Osing-speaking community of East Java, Indonesia. Osing (also spelled Using; ISO 639-3: osi) is a distinct variety of Javanese spoken by approximately 355,000 people in Banyuwangi Regency at the far eastern tip of Java. The language has absorbed many Balinese loanwords and is considered a marker of local Osing cultural identity distinct from standard Javanese. Bible portions in Osing were completed between 2015 and 2017, with the New Testament following as a major milestone in indigenous Scripture access for this community. The resource is available alongside the Jesus Film, produced for visual and audio engagement with the Gospel story in the heart language of the Banyuwangi region.
