Overview
The Tenango Otomi New Testament is a 1975 translation of the New Testament into Tenango Otomi, produced by Wycliffe Bible Translators. [1] Tenango Otomi (ISO 639-3: otn) is an Eastern Otomi language of the Otomian branch within the Oto-Manguean language family. [2] It is spoken by approximately 10,000 people in the mountainous Sierra Norte region of Hidalgo state, Mexico. [2] The language is also known as Otomí de Tenango and Otomí de la Sierra, and is classified as not endangered according to current assessments, though it remains a developing language. [2] The vernacular title is "Ja ua ra̱ ʼdaʼyo cohi bi gomi̱ Oja̱ yø ja̱ʼi̱." The text is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivatives 4.0 license. [1]
