Palauan New Testament (PAUPOT)

Overview

The Palauan New Testament, published in 1964, was the first New Testament in the Palauan language. It was translated by Hildegard A.K. Thiem of the Liebenzell Mission (LM), assisted by Paulus Subris Ermang. [1] The Liebenzell Mission, a German Pietist evangelical mission organization, has maintained a long-standing presence in Palau and other Pacific Island locations, carrying out Bible translation, church planting, and education work. [2] The copyright for this edition is held by the American Bible Society, and it was published in cooperation with the Bible Society of Micronesia. [1] Palauan is an Austronesian language indigenous to Palau and one of the country's two official languages.
