Páez 1984 Edition (PBBWBT)

Overview

The Páez 1984 Edition, titled Dyus Yuwe Uꞌsesa, is a New Testament translation in the Páez language (also known by its autonym Nasa Yuwe), published in 1984 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. [1] The Nasa people are one of the largest indigenous groups in Colombia, concentrated in the Cauca Department in the southwestern Andes. Linguistic study of Nasa Yuwe began with SIL missionaries in the late 1960s and continued with researchers from the Colombian Center for Aboriginal Languages Studies (CCELA) in the 1980s. [2] A second edition of the New Testament was published in 2011 by Wycliffe. [2] The Colombian Bible Society has also been involved in ongoing efforts to translate additional Scripture portions into Nasa Yuwe. [3]
