Old Testament Bambam Portions (PTUWBT)
Overview
The Old Testament Bambam Portions is a 2004 publication by Wycliffe Bible Translators containing selected Old Testament books in the Bambam language (also known as Pitu Ulunna Salu) of West Sulawesi, Indonesia. [1] Bambam is an Austronesian language belonging to the Pitu Ulunna Salu subgroup of the South Sulawesi branch, related to Aralle-Tabulahan, Ulumanda', Pannei, and Dakka. [2] SIL International conducted sociolinguistic surveys in the Bambam-speaking area of Kabupaten Polewali Mamasa beginning in 1987, and Philip J. Campbell published research on the phonology of Pitu Ulunna Salu through SIL in 1991, laying groundwork for translation efforts. [3] The broader Bambam Bible translation project eventually produced a complete New Testament along with Old Testament portions including Genesis, Exodus, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, Psalms, Proverbs, Daniel, and Jonah.
