Overview
New Testament in Quechua, Lambayeque (PE:quf:Quechua, Lambayeque). The Lambayeque Quechua New Testament (Mushuq Testamento) was published in 2008 by Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc., with a first edition in 2004. [1] Lambayeque Quechua (also known as Inkawasi-Kañaris or Ferreñafe Quechua) is a Quechua II variety spoken in the districts of Incahuasi and Cañaris in Ferreñafe Province, Lambayeque Region, Peru. [2] The language has approximately 20,000 speakers and is closely related to Cajamarca Quechua, with 94% lexical similarity between the two. [2] The translation was intended to serve speakers of various religious backgrounds in discovering the biblical text in their own language. [1]
