South Bolivian Quechua New Testament (QUHSBB)

Overview

The New Testament in South Bolivian Quechua, titled Dios Parlapawanchej, published in 2011 by Wycliffe Bible Translators in cooperation with the Bible Society of Bolivia. [1] South Bolivian Quechua is one of the largest Quechua varieties, with over 1.6 million speakers across Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile. [2] Earlier Quechua scripture work in Bolivia dates to 1917, when a bilingual Quechua-Spanish edition of the four Gospels was published, followed by a bilingual New Testament in 1922 and the Psalms in 1929. A new edition of the Bolivian Quechua New Testament appeared in 1977, and in 1996 an interconfessional team published a full Bolivian Quechua Bible, with a deuterocanonical edition following in 2004. [3] The 2011 QUHSBB edition represents a fresh Wycliffe translation distinct from these earlier interconfessional editions.
