Eastern Apurímac Quechua New Testament (QVETBL)

Overview

The Eastern Apurímac Quechua New Testament, titled Mosoq Testamento, was published in 2013 by Wycliffe Bible Translators in partnership with AIDIA (Asociación Interdenominacional para el Desarrollo Integral de Apurímac), a church-based organization founded in the early 2000s by Peruvian volunteers and members of Wycliffe Canada and SIL [1][2]. The translation was led by a team of Quechua-speaking translators under the direction of Luis Cervantes, AIDIA's director, and serves approximately 200,000 speakers of Eastern Apurímac Quechua in one of Peru's poorest highland regions [1][3]. Following the New Testament's publication, AIDIA began Old Testament translation in 2013, completing it by 2022, and the complete Bible was dedicated in Colpa, Peru in September 2025 [2][4]. Beyond translation, AIDIA has promoted literacy, developed church leadership, produced audio and video Scripture materials, and supported children's Sunday school classes and camps throughout the Apurímac communities [1].
