Rohingya Bible Translation Project (RHGEBL)
Overview
The Rohingya Bible Translation Project is a Scripture portions edition in the Rohingya language, published in 2025 by The Seed Company. [1] It contains nine books: Genesis, Ruth, Jonah, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Galatians, and Ephesians, spanning both Old and New Testament selections. The Seed Company, an affiliate of Wycliffe Bible Translators, works alongside local partners to translate Scripture efficiently and accurately. [1] The Rohingya are an Indo-Aryan ethnolinguistic group, predominantly from Rakhine State in Myanmar, with between 1.5 and 2 million speakers of the language. [2] This translation represents a separate effort from the RHGC edition produced by The Word for the World International, reflecting the existence of multiple Rohingya Scripture translation initiatives.
