Crimean Romani Bible (RMNPBT)

Overview

The Crimean Romani Bible is a 2022 publication containing portions of Scripture (5 books) in the Crimean dialect of Romani, written in the Cyrillic script. Published by Pioneer Bible Translators, this translation serves Roma communities in Crimea and Ukraine. [1] Pioneer Bible Translators has been working with Roma communities across Ukraine, translating Scripture into five different Romani dialects: Vlakh, Carpathian, Crimean, Servi, and Lovari. [1] The use of Cyrillic script is significant because fewer than five percent of Roma in Ukraine are literate, and most of those who can read use only the Cyrillic script. [1] An estimated 260,000 Roma live in Ukraine, forming a significant minority population. [1]
