Romblomanon 2018 New Testament (ROLWBT)

Overview

The Romblomanon New Testament (Bag-o nga Kasugtanan) is the first Scripture translation in Romblomanon (ISO 639-3: rol), a Central Bisayan language spoken by approximately 100,000 people across Romblon Province in the central Philippines. [1] The translation effort was led by Phyllis Rappa, a Wycliffe Bible Translators member who spent 21 years working in Romblon, beginning with language learning and then producing a dictionary and grammatical description before starting translation work. [2] Rev. Law and Mrs. Pauline Law of Wycliffe Hong Kong joined the project from 1995. [2] The digital version was completed and released in 2016, with the printed edition dedicated at a ceremony on April 27, 2019, on Romblon Island. [2]
