Rote Dela Bible (ROWUBB)
Overview
Genesis and the New Testament in the Dela-Oenale language of Rote Island, eastern Indonesia, published in 2004 by Unit Bahasa dan Budaya (UBB-GMIT), the Language and Culture Unit of the Gereja Masehi Injili di Timor (GMIT). [1] The translation was part of a multi-language Bible translation initiative on Rote Island coordinated by UBB-GMIT in partnership with the Seed Company and Wycliffe Bible Translators. [2] Dela-Oenale is spoken on the western coast of Rote Island by approximately 7,000 people, making it one of the smaller language communities on the island. [3]
