Eastern Subanen — known to its speakers as Guinselugnen, and also called Guinsalugen or Salugnen — is a language spoken by approximately 8,600 people on the Zamboanga Peninsula and in northern Mindanao in the Philippines. The language belongs to the Philippine branch of the Austronesian family and is distinct from the related Central and Northern Subanen varieties. The Translators Association of the Philippines (TAP), a Filipino evangelical Bible translation organization, completed the New Testament in Eastern Subanen in 2020, bringing Scripture to this community for the first time in their mother tongue. The audio New Testament is produced in collaboration with Faith Comes By Hearing and is available in both drama and non-drama recordings, offering Guinselugnen speakers access to the New Testament in an oral format suited to their language community.
