Sholaga Bible (SLEWFW) (SLEWFW)
Overview
This is a New Testament translation in the Sholaga language. Sholaga (also called Soliganudi) is a Dravidian language closely related to Kannada with Tamil influences, spoken by the Soliga people, a Scheduled Tribe of southern India. [1] The Soliga inhabit the Biligiriranga Hills (BR Hills) and associated mountain ranges in the Chamarajanagar district of southern Karnataka and parts of Tamil Nadu. [2] With a population of around 40,000, the Soliga are primarily forest-dwelling people with a deep traditional knowledge of the local ecology. [2] This translation makes the New Testament accessible in the community's own language, which has historically been an oral language with limited written literature.
