Southern Ma'di is a Central Sudanic language of the Moru-Madi branch spoken by approximately 106,000 people in the West Nile Region of northwestern Uganda, concentrated in the Adjumani and Moyo districts near the South Sudan border. Its dialects include Ogoko, Okollo, Rigbo, and Southern, and the language is mutually intelligible to varying degrees with related Moru-Madi languages including Lugbara, Moru, and Avokaya. Speakers refer to their language as "Ma'di ti" — literally "Ma'di mouth" — with the apostrophe indicating the implosive quality of the d. The Word for the World (TWFTW), an international Bible translation organization founded in South Africa in 1981, produced this audio Scripture resource in Southern Ma'di, making portions of Scripture available's Bible.is platform in both drama and non-drama audio formats for Ma'di-speaking communities in Uganda.
