Kanasi New Testament (SOQWBT)

Overview

The Kanasi New Testament was published in 1996 by Wycliffe Bible Translators as a new translation in this language. [1] Kanasi is a Trans-New Guinea language belonging to the Dagan branch, spoken by approximately 2,200 people in Milne Bay Province in the southeastern peninsula of Papua New Guinea. [2] The language is used as a first language by all members of the ethnic community and is spoken in the villages of Sololo, Kondu, and Wadauda, whose inhabitants are sometimes known as the "bush people." [3] The Kanasi New Testament is titled "Ina Sanaa Gagalowa" in the vernacular.
