Sô, whose speakers use the name Sô: Makong for their language community, is an Austroasiatic language spoken primarily in Laos, with approximately 93,000 speakers in Laos and an additional 75,000 in Thailand. The So people of Laos are classified by mission researchers as an unreached people group at the earliest stage of gospel engagement, with virtually no evangelical presence documented among them. Bible portions in Sô were first produced between 1980 and 2014, and more recently The Word for the World (TWFTW) — an international Bible translation organization — has produced this audio Scripture resource, which is hosted's Bible.is platform in both compressed and standard audio formats. Global Recordings Network has also made audio gospel recordings available in the language. The audio format is particularly important for Sô communities where oral communication is primary and literacy in the language remains limited.
