Susu New Testament (SUSPBT)

Overview

The Susu New Testament was published in 2013 as a collaboration between the Mission Evangélique Réformée Néerlandaise (MERN) and Pioneer Bible Translators, as reflected in the copyright designation "MERN_PBT." [1] Susu is a major West African trade language of the Mande family, spoken by over 2.4 million people primarily in coastal Guinea, where it serves as one of the country's six national languages. [2] The earliest Susu Scripture was a translation of the first seven chapters of the Gospel of Matthew by Rev. John Godfrey Wilhelm of the Church Missionary Society, published in London in 1816 as Lingjili Matthew. [2] A complete Bible in Susu was subsequently published in 2017. [1]
