Samay (also called Osamayi or Sama) is a Bantu language of Gabon with a small speaker community. Scripture portions in Samay — including the books of Luke and Acts — were produced under the coordination of CIEATLG (Coordination Inter-Eglises pour la Traduction et l'Alphabétisation en Langue Gabonaise), an interdenominational church body dedicated to Bible translation and literacy work across Gabonese languages. CIEATLG has produced written New Testament portions in eight Gabonese languages and partial oral translations in sixteen languages, with the Samay recording made available through Faith Comes By Hearing's Bible.is platform. The organization's broad mandate includes developing orthographies, training mother-tongue translators, and producing the Jesus Film in Gabonese languages, making it the primary institution for vernacular scripture in Gabon.
