Tagbanwa New Testament and Old Testament Portions (TBWWBT)

Overview

The Tagbanwa New Testament and Old Testament Portions is a 1992 translation in the Aborlan Tagbanwa language of Palawan province, Philippines, published by Wycliffe Bible Translators. This was the first Scripture in the language, with Bible portions dating back to 1968-1996. [1] Notably, this edition uses the indigenous Tagbanwa script, a pre-colonial writing system related to Baybayin, rather than Latin script. Wycliffe Philippines currently has an active Oral Bible Translation project for this community, translating Scripture into oral forms including storytelling, songs, dramas, and chants. [2]
