Embera Tado New Testament (TDCWBT)
Overview
The Emberá-Tadó New Testament is a translation of the New Testament (28 books) into Emberá-Tadó, a Chocoan language spoken by approximately 1,200 people in the Chocó department of western Colombia. [1] The New Testament was completed in 1999 by Wycliffe Bible Translators. [1] The Emberá peoples are a group of indigenous communities inhabiting the Pacific lowlands and river valleys of northwestern Colombia and southeastern Panama. [2] Emberá-Tadó (also known as Epera Pedea) is classified by Ethnologue as a separate language within the Emberá dialect continuum, which belongs to the Chocoan language family. [1] No complete Old Testament translation has been reported for this language. [1]
