Tifal New Testament (TIFWBT)

Overview

The Tifal New Testament was published in 1998 by Wycliffe Bible Translators as the first Scripture in the Tifal language. Tifal (also known as Tifalmin) is an Ok language spoken by approximately 6,800 people in Sandaun Province (Telefomin District) and Western Province (Star Mountains) of Papua New Guinea. [1] Bible portions had been available since 1979 prior to the New Testament completion. Tifal is closely related to the neighboring Telefol language (TLFWBT), both belonging to the Ok language family of the Star Mountains region. [2]
