Telefol New Testament (TLFWBT)
Overview
The Telefol New Testament was published in 1988 by Wycliffe Bible Translators as the first Scripture in the Telefol language. Telefol is an Ok language spoken by approximately 5,400 people in the Telefomin District of Sandaun Province, Papua New Guinea, in the mountainous Star Mountains region. [1] SIL linguists Alan Healey and Phyllis M. Healey conducted fieldwork in the 1960s-1970s, producing "Telefol Phonology" (1964) and a comprehensive Telefol dictionary (1977, Pacific Linguistics series), work which underpinned the translation effort. [2]
