The New Testament in the Tampula language (TPMWNT)

Overview

The New Testament in the Tampula language of Ghana ("Koosa Səm Tɔn Fali") was published in 1993 by the Ghana Institute of Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation (GILLBT), making it the first Scripture translation in the Tampulma language. ^[1][2] Tampulma, also known as Tamprusi, is a Mabia (formerly Gur) language spoken by approximately 16,000 people in the Northern and Savannah Regions of Ghana. ^[3] GILLBT, founded in 1962 as SIL International's first work in Africa, has translated Scripture into over 35 Ghanaian languages, and the Tampulma New Testament was among a group of northern Ghanaian mother-tongue translations. ^[1][4]
