Copala Triqui New Testament (TRCWBT)

Overview

The Copala Triqui New Testament was published in 1987 by Wycliffe Bible Translators and Liga Biblica Internacional, providing Scripture in the Copala variety of Triqui, an Oto-Manguean language of the Mixtecan branch spoken in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. [1] [2] Copala Triqui is the largest of the three Triqui language varieties, spoken by approximately 25,000 people primarily in and around the town of San Juan Copala in western Oaxaca near the Guerrero border, with significant diaspora communities in the San Quintin valley of Baja California Norte and in Hermosillo, Sonora. [3] The language is noted for its complex tonal system, in which words with identical consonants and vowels are distinguished by tonal patterns. [4]
