Triqui de San Martin Itunyoso New Testament (TRQWBT)

Overview

The Triqui de San Martin Itunyoso New Testament was published in 1996 by Wycliffe Bible Translators and Liga Biblica Internacional, providing Scripture in the Itunyoso variety of the Triqui language spoken in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. [1] San Martin Itunyoso Triqui is a member of the Mixtecan branch of the Oto-Manguean language family, spoken by approximately 2,000 people in the municipality of San Martin Itunyoso in Oaxaca, and has been recognized as a national language of Mexico since 2003. [2] [3] It is the smallest of the three Triqui language varieties (alongside Copala Triqui and Chicahuaxtla Triqui), and while related to the other Triqui languages, the varieties are not fully mutually intelligible, necessitating separate Bible translations.
