Tuvan Bible (TYVIBT)

Overview

The Tuvan Bible is the first complete Bible translation into the Tuvan language, originally published in 2011 by the Institute for Bible Translation (IBT), Moscow, after 21 years of translation work. [1] The translation was carried out with the participation of well-known Tuvan writers Nikolai Kuular, Maria Kuzhuget, and Eduard Mizhit, among others, and received the stamp of approval of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. [1] Vitaly Voinov served as project director and exegete. [1] Prior to the full Bible, IBT published the Tuvan New Testament and a Children's Bible in 2001, with the entire print run of the Children's Bible distributed within weeks of delivery to Tuva. [1] The book of Psalms was first published separately in 2005. [1] A corrected and updated second edition of the Tuvan Bible was published in 2025. [1]
